Artist of the Week, Laila Hugrass

Laila's selective use of colour adds a new dimension, a different train of thought, to her black and white drawings.  It brings the conversations to life, it accentuates an ambiguity and sets a new tone, pulling all elements together with its' own voice.

It's incredible, the diverse range of representations one subject matter can encounter.  Yet often, we as the Artist only think from one perspective.  I also found it intriguing that most people usually avoid drawing the face, yet on this particular occasion those boundaries were overcome and there was a mass attraction to drawing Kim's face.
